Sixto B. Daluyen Jr. returns home as principal of Sagada National High School effective June 4, 2012.

Daluyen passed the 2008 qualifying examination for principal aspirants and was granted the principal item of SNHS in 2012 but was assigned by then Schools Division Superintendent Mary A. Lang-ayan to Tapapan National High School for SY 2010-2011 and then to Otucan Bila National High School for SY 2011-2012.

Daluyen envisions a unified national high school in central Sagada. During his first three months as school head, the segregation of the school site from Sagada Central School was realized. He plans to build a retaining wall near the creek for flood control and finish the first storey of the new building. He is to require teachers lesson plans and observe them at class hours. He would support sports activities to promote and develop interests of students in sports.

“At first I thought he was scary but as days passed, I realized he is a very considerate and hardworking school head”, said one student on Daluyen’s keen eyes for impairment of school facilities.

“It’s good to be back to serve you children. I’m glad to be here instead of serving other schools although my deployment in Bauko enriched my capability to be a school manager. I’m enjoying and I’m happy because we have a harmonious relationship”, Daluyen said in an interview.

On the other hand, Joseph Caligtan, the school head of SNHS for the past two years has been assigned to Albago National High School and is on the process of working his papers for the said school’s principal item. He replaced Atkinson Tudlong who is now the principal of Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School.

In 1996, Daluyen taught in Bangaan National High School in the morning and at SNHS in the afternoon. Daluyen became Teacher-in-charge of the school from 2004-2008 after James Lonogan retired.

“A school head should be a carpenter, a supervisor, a teacher and a parent all at once”, he concluded.
